But nothing was stopping all this fish lovers from fishing at the Fishing Derby that was hosted by the Peyton Family at Lake Willastein.  People from all ages had their fishing poles out there and was ready for a bite. There will be prizes for the most fish caught by weight.

The event was overall an enjoyment for families especially kids. Their facial expressions were just priceless.

Looking forward to more events at Lake Willastein!

Handmade Clay Figurines

Handmade clay figurines requires skills. They need to be shaped, rolled, baked, painted and glazed. Of course certain tools is needed for the process but it is a fun hobby if you enjoy making little figurines.

I got to see how it was done and it was interesting. Vyvian, the skillful one, showed me all the figurines that she has made. They were too cute!! And lucky me, I got to keep one.

Orchids Brings Back Childhood Memories

I grew up watching my dad grow orchids in our backyard and I was always amazed at how beautiful they are.  My favorite are the purple and yellow ones (sorry I am not too sure what their names are).
Tempted to grow them?? Yes I have but I am too nervous to grow them. They have certain conditions on how to take care of them depending on which kind of orchids.

So since I am not good at orchids nor planting lol I just enjoy looking at orchids that is grown by others.

A Weekend Trip to Tulsa

Although it was a short trip, I am very grateful to spend the weekend with the family. There is nothing better to do than just relax, eat and share the laughter together. Of course, with Cyrus, it just makes our trip worthwhile.

As Robert, mom & I was driving to Tulsa, we reminisce the time when Cyrus was just a newborn and how we took turn to watch over him at night.  Then when he starts to crawl, he was into everything. Then comes walking, and we could still remember how he took his first wobbly little steps. Oh how time flies..and this precious boy is 3 1/2 years now. Now he is telling us stories and teaching his Papa and PohPoh (grandma) how to play games on the ipad.

Thanks to his Uncle Loren ( Logan as he calls him ), Cyrus got his first Lightning McQueen bike. Poh Poh and Papa got him safety gears so that their precious lil grandson will not fall and hurt himself:)

Here are just a couple of my favorite shots of Cyrus:

Karen...You Rock!!

Every week at work, we would have a meeting once a week and everyone gets a chance to do a 'Circle of Quality' more like a meeting facilitator.  So, it was my turn for this week. I love to look for ideas on how to make the meeting fun and bring positive energy to the room.

And I came up with this idea, Inspirational Rock. Instead of inspirational words, I had everyone on my team to give me a word that best describes themselves. Then I would paint those words on the rocks.
During the meeting, everyone will have a chance to share why they picked their word. That rock is a reflection of themselves.

My word was 'giving' because I am a giving person and I would always try to give or help others with any possible way that I can. I would try my very best to provide especially for my loves ones because they are my world, my everything.
I was glad that they enjoyed sharing their rocks and at the end of the meeting, they told me, " Karen....you rock!!"

My Crafty Lil Sissy

As you know, I have a younger sister, Kelly who I adore and love very much. She has been very creative since she was little. Sometime, I would sit down with her and watch her do her little things and boy, is she fast. She has made Thank You cards, hair bows, hair clips, flip flops, headbands, rings and necklaces. And if you have an idea, she will take it and try to work around it.

So I thought I would share some of her work with you:

Happy Wednesday!!

Inspirational books that I read

When my friend, Victor, first  introduce me to this book, The Monk that Sold His Ferrari, I thought the title of the book was catchy. Why would a monk has a ferrari and why would he sell it?

So I decided to read it just so I can fulfill my own questions and curiosity. The book about was about how to focus in life and what we should appreciate daily. People are too busy making money and tends to forget about what is most important in their life, is their family. Overall I like the book very much and I have been following the author, Robin Sharma's blog, tweet and Facebook. A very well known success guru from Canada and he teaches people how to be positive and creative.

I enjoy reading inspirational books or success stories so I will post my goodreads whenever I finish and my goal for the year is to read at least 2 book a month, if possible.
